Why we started the course
Studio Salford has been producing and presenting theatre for over 15 years, and many of the artists who've created work for us, have gone on to thriving, creative careers. But we all have to start somewhere - which is where the Studio Salford WriteForTheStage Producing course comes in handy.
Be prepared
We share our experience and wisdom through this short course so that you'll be prepared when it comes to bringing your first piece of theatre to an audience. We explore company structure, casting, directing, budgeting, the tech, marketing - in fact, we're there to hold your hand all the way.
We focus on writing an application to Arts Council England. We've helped people get the money they need to get their project off the ground.
It's not just for Mancunians
It's not just Manchester that has a fringe, of course, so our doors are open to people all over the country, especially if you're in an area that doesn't currently have any theatre activity.
Our courses run online, so it's the perfect platform to join if you're looking for guidance.

Our online courses are fully interactive, with tons of exercises and tasks to get you learning practically. It's an excellent platform for discussion, and to share ideas in a supportive environment.
Your own theatre production companies
We help you set yourself up as a theatre company so that you can find a venue, recruit a team and hire actors.
Many companies that have set up as a result of WFTS Producing have gone beyond their first productions and become prolific contributors to the fringe theatre scene.
December is go
The course runs on Saturday afternoons - and starts on December 9th.
The course will be run entirely online, and each session will be 3 hours in length, running over the course of 6 months.
We'll be starting in December, and running until May - so it will be a perfect opportunity to get you ready for bringing a piece to the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival.
And we'll give you support along the way as your piece gets up on its feet.
