Celebrating Shelagh Delaney Day at Salford Arts Theatre

Writer's picture: Mike HeathMike Heath

The Salford Arts Theatre are one of Greater Manchester's most supportive environments for new writers, championing the work of diverse voices through their excellent Young Performers group.

The Salford Arts Young Performers won Best Newcomers at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival (2018) after performing the work of resident playwright, Libby Hall.

Salford Arts Theatre is ideally placed to celebrate the work of Salford playwright, Shelagh Delaney, whose most famous work, A Taste of Honey, is still celebrated to this day. In fact, there's been a recent National Theatre tour of the piece, which enjoyed a run at The Lowry.

The deadline for expressions of interest for the Shelagh Delaney event is this coming Friday, 4th October. Details in the image above.
