The WriteForTheStage Prize for New Writing, 2018: the publications

We’re very excited to announce the launch of the two latest publications from WriteForTheStage Books.

How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse, by Jonathan Hall, and 18 Victoria, by Cody Daigle-Orians were joint winners for the WriteForTheStage Prize for New Writing, 2018.

The first prize is a publication in paperback and on Kindle, and we’re excited to announce that the books have now gone to print and are available for purchase from Amazon.

The WriteForTheStage Prize for New Writing is part of the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival. Each year, our panel of judges go and see lots of shows and read lots of scripts to come up with a shortlist; before we battle it out to come to a decision about who wins.

The standard gets better and better every year, so we often find it difficult to come up with one winner, and for 2018, the prize went to two great writers.

How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse was presented by Narthern Productions and performed at The Kings Arms Theatre - starring Tobias Christopher and Lee Petcher, directed by Andy Pilkington.

18 Victoria was presented by Root & Branch Productions and performed at 53Two - starring Joe Geddes, Alex Herod, and James Nicholas, directed by Julie Root.

Eternal thanks go to our wonderful panel of judges: Stephen M Hornby, Cathy Crabb, Jayne Marshall, and Naomi Sumner. The shortlist for the prize can be seen here.

The WriteForTheStage Prize for New Writing is running again in 2019. Watch this space for details of how to apply.
