LearnInYourLunchHour launches in May!

Want to join a Studio Salford WriteForTheStage course but can't get to the venue? From May, geography and access will no longer be a barrier. LearnInYourLunchHour is for you.

WriteForTheStage has been running for over 5 years now. It's really exciting and gratifying to know that we've helped loads of great writers start out who are now contributing some brilliant work to the industry.

We've been based in Salford since we started, but for the last couple of years have provided the option of joining the session online for anyone who can't get to the venue. Indeed, we've been running the Producing course from my home office and in Thessaloniki in Greece simultaneously since January. And it works a treat.

We've just launched the WFTS WritersLab which runs online every Tuesday, 6-8pm. It works via video conference and works very well. Last week we had 8 participants, all sharing their brand new work, all from different parts of the North West. Very exciting.

So, after having tested our online delivery pretty extensively, we're now ready to launch our fully online writing courses.

Starting on May 4th 2017, these online sessions will teach you all about writing a play. Covering the fundamentals of theme, structure and character development, we'll use loads of great exercises to get you mining the imagination, writing, developing and creating in a way you never thought possible.

And, as the title of the course suggest, the course runs in lunch-hour portions - midday (GMT), every Thursday for 15 weeks.

At the end of the course, your work will be read by professional actors and directed by top notch directors, performed as part of the Intro showcase at Studio Salford Development Week, broadcast over Facebook Live, so that you can join in, give feedback and be there - even if you can't physically be there.

We welcome people from all over the UK and around the world (NB - the sessions and all feedback will be given in English).

Check out the info and get booking for the start of the course in May.
