Intern opportunities for Marina and the Clone

Recently we got the great news that a second project from the WriteForTheStage Producing course (2015-16) was getting Arts Council England support.

Richard "RP" Douglas, the playwright responsible for the wonderfully bonkers Barbara The Zoo Keeper, will be presenting his new piece, the 80s soap-influenced Marina and the Clone in February 2017, with support from WriteForTheStage Productions and ACE, using it as an opportunity to start up his own theatre company and re-establish himself as a writer with a brilliant comedy voice (in terms of writing, I mean; although I've heard he sounds like Zsa Zsa Gabor after a lungful of helium).

We'll be starting the project proper in December, but in the meantime, we're on the look-out for people who are keen to gain experience in the arts. There's no age limit on this opportunity and no expectation of prior experience - just a desire to learn the ropes of production for the thriving fringe-theatre scene. You'll shadow the producer, director, stage manager or technician and learn essential skills that you can take onto your own project. We have a small budget for expenses, so, although this isn't a paid internship, we will be able to cover expenses.

You tell us what you want to learn and we'll do our best to address it. So, if you'd love to produce, direct, operate lights and sound or otherwise be involved in a great fun piece of theatre, then please get in touch.

Send us a CV and a couple of lines about why you're interested in being involved in the project and we'll be in touch.
