Well, Development Week 7 is shaping up nicely. I'm nearly in a position to announce the programme - keep an eye out for the next blog.
We're hoping to re-ignite Embryo as well - there are a couple of logistics to sort out there, but that's the aim. If you've never been to Embryo before, it's a brilliant night of eclectic cabaret. It's a night of 10 minute excerpts of work in development - expect script-in-hand performances, music, poetry, films, dance - basically anything performance-based. I'm very excited with the prospect of bringing Embryo back which has been on a hiatus for a couple of years.
So, things are getting there. I'm very excited with the work that we're putting together for your delight. Watch this space!
Also, I'mmhoping to get a great established artist to take on the Development Week Challenge - to write a brand new first draft of a new play for the event. Previous Development Week Challenges include the wonderful Laura Lindsay, who wrote her first draft over the space of a couple of days (it was brilliant!) and it went on to a full production at Harrogate Theatre with support from Arts Council England a couple of years later. So, all very exciting stuff.
Watch this space!!!
