Richard Stringer has been developing his script, Runaway, with WFTS for a long time. He started with the Intro course and developed it into a 60minute script with the Developing course.
The script was read at Studio Salford Development Week and he got some great, helpful feedback. Since then he's continued to work on the development of the script through the Developing course.
After a really intensive development stage, he decided that he's ready to get the work up and running and decided to join the WFTS Producing course (previously called Advanced 2). Through the course he has learned loads of skills required to get a production up and on its feet, including directing tips, marketing advice, casting and loads more about the process of getting a script from page to stage.
Part of the course is to put together an Arts Council funding application together. So, with support from the course, Richard has applied for funding for the first production of Runaway (to be performed during the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival at The Kings Arms Theatre in July).
And I'm very happy to announce that we've just heard this morning that he has received that funding!
So, many congratulations to Richard!! Watch this space!
