Mike is an experienced theatre writer / director.  He has worked in fringe theatre since 2003, with work appearing at Studio Salford, 24:7 Theatre Festival, The Buxton Fringe, Re:Play @ The Library Theatre, The Lowry, Liverpool Everyman, Robert Powell Theatre (Salford), The Drill Hall (London) as well as many fringe venues in Manchester, such as Taurus and Joshua Brooks.  He is half of Manchester Evening News award winning, Mediamedea, along with Cathy Crabb. Mike is studying for an MA in Playwriting at Salford University. The course is taught in conjunction with The Royal Exchange, Bolton Octagon and Liverpool Everyman.

He's also a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher and teaches classes in and around Manchester.  Check the Yoga tab for details of classes.

 

He has been lucky enough to be awarded funding by Arts Council England on three separate occasions - an R&D for a devised project called Playing God, for the Studio Salford Write For The Stage courses and for Barbara The Zoo Keeper by RP Douglas for WriteForTheStage Productions.

 

He's also been in grateful receipt of three grants from The Peggy Ramsay Foundation to help to him write for the stage, including the up-coming All Tomorrow's Parties (Studio Salford, Oct 2013).
