As you've probably noticed, we've recently upgraded the WriteForTheStage website. We've tried to make it easier to navigate, and hopefully it's quicker to load than the previous site. But, ultimately, you're probably much better qualified to let us know if we've achieved those objectives.
One of the things we're keen to do is to create a hub for sharing writing tips and theatre recommendations.
So we set up The WriteForTheStage Discussion Forum.
Get Involved
We'd love you to get involved in WriteForTheStage.
We wanted to create a place for discussion and sharing. We hope that our discussion forum might be somewhere people come to find out things about playwriting. We hope that this could be a great way of sharing the love.
At the moment we have four main subject areas, but it's easy to expand.
We currently have discussion boards for:
The WFTS Podcast - suggestions, comments, and questions to address in future episodes of The WFTS Podcast
Writing Tips - a place for people to ask questions and for people to share their knowledge
Theatre Recommendations - a place to discuss the best in theatre; from the fringe to the West End
Competitions and Script Call Outs - a place for people to share information about upcoming script windows, script call-outs, and competitions.
It's A Members Only Club
Now, we don't like all this exclusive rubbish.
We don't believe in gatekeeping and we absolutely don't want to appear to be seen as exclusive.
But you will have to join the WriteForTheStage website as a member to contribute to the forums - it's just an annoying limitation of our website provider forum app.
But anyone can read the comments, so we can still keep it all about the sharing.
If you become a website member, you'll get regular updates whenever we post a blog and you'll be able to follow other members if you find that they add useful stuff to a forum you find useful.
We're hoping to develop a member's area where you get access to more learning resources, etc. But that's in the pipeline for the moment.
Join The Website
So, join the website. It's free to join - and contribute to the discussion forum.
Let's share the love!
Let us know what you think
We'd love to know what you think about the new website. Have you spotted any dead links or slow-loading pages? Or have you found it difficult to find the information you were looking for?
Please let us know in the discussion forum.
Thanks!
